Table saws are flexible saws utilized for cutting across (crosscut) and with (tear) the wood grain. They are most generally used to tear. After changing the level and angle of the sharp edge, the operator drives the stock into the sharp edge to get it done. An aide (wall) is utilized to keep a straight sliced lined up with the cutting edge.
